As the Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for the Dallas Wings, Charles Johnson is responsible for negotiating partnership contracts and creating comprehensive marketing strategies in the multimedia and sports property space for all business sectors.
Charles started his career in several sales and marketing positions with the Texas Rangers, New Orleans Saints and TCU Athletics. In 2007, he served as a Sales Consultant during the Dallas Cowboys AT&T Stadium project, personally generating over $22M in Pro Seat License sales, becoming a top 10 Sales Consultant as part of a sales force that produced over $500M in sales. After the Dallas Cowboys, Charles became the Sales Manager for the New York Yankees, leading the general ticket sales department and assisting in creating a new premium seating program in Yankee Stadium that secured over $40M in contractual revenue in less than a year. In 2012, Charles became Director of Ticket Sales for the Philadelphia 76ers, responsible for a sales force of 45 employees and all ticket sales and service activities. During that time his sales team was awarded “Most New Business Memberships” by the NBA league office, increased the 76ers new business revenue by 150% and promoted several employees to management roles.
Charles serves as the President on the board of directors for Shameka’s Angels HIV/AIDS Foundation and Advisor on the Advisory Board for Tremont Global Education. He earned a BA in Communication Studies and MS in Interdisciplinary Studies at Texas Tech University. Charles resides in Mansfield, Texas with his wife Varatip and two children, Landon and Layla.
